  • Uplift Luna Parents  and guardians,

We sincerely appreciate your diligence in following car line procedure and route (marked by the arrow on the map.) While the rules and procedures of car line may seem arbitrary they allow us to ensure scholar safety, maintain traffic flow, and ger scholars home as quickly as possible. Elm street construction has caused more restrictions and affected our ability to move cars quickly, but we can still serve everyone’s needs if we work together.

As construction on Elm St. adds constriction to our path, we are asking you to continue carline procedure as normal and also pay special attention to immediately correct any blocking of traffic your vehicle may be causing on Elm St. and N Good Latimer Expy. Should you find that traffic is congested at the time you pick up, please come five minutes later the next day. Typically, we hav ea large amount of cars in the first 15’ of car line and afterwards Monument St. is completely empty. You will save yourself time by just coming a bit later and also help ease the congestion.

On 3/19/14, as you may be aware, a Dallas Police officer was frustrated by parents blocking Elm street and N Good Latimer Expy decided to block car line at the Monument St. entrance with her vehicle (indicated by the star on the map below). Please note that the traffic congestion was caused by (a) car(s) stopping at the interstion of N Good Latimer Expy and Monument St.

As stated in pervious notices, cars cannot block the public roads and need to :

                    a) park and walk up
                    b) proceed on the given route and return later

The Dallas Police department and Uplift Luna both want car line to run smoothly and also to have traffic remain unimpeded, but please be advised that blocking, hindering, or impeding traffic may result in a citation from a Dallas Police Officer under the Texas Transportation Code - Section 545.302.

  • Uplift Luna Secondary Parents and Guardians,
Please note that Elm St. construction has extended past the length of our school and blocks the Elm St. exit of our school for the west parking lot. As so please use Monument Street to get to the parking lot (the same street used to enter car line) if you are approaching from the west.
